Yes! It is a FREE event.

Yes! This event is pet friendly; however, we do ask that you pick up after your furry friends.

Carols by Candlelight Geelong is located at Johnstone Park, Geelong.

No. There will be no fireworks at this event.

Yes. There will be toilets at this event and there is an accessible toilet available also.

Yes! There will be plenty of food trucks on site with a range of options to choose from.

There will be a limited number of street parking spots available on the night, so get in early. 

We suggest making use of the public transport available. Carols by Candlelight Geelong is located at Johnstone Park, right across the road from the Geelong Train Station.

Yes! We will be selling a variety of battery-operated candles and glowsticks, as well as Lyric Books. All proceeds raised from these sales will go directly towards our Youth Programs at The Y Geelong, supporting young people from Geelong  & District community.

 We will monitor the weather conditions and cancel the event if they are deemed unsafe. Please check the weather before you attend.  Keep up to date on our socials.

 We suggest bringing something to sit on, a water bottle and comfortable shoes. Carols by Candlelight Geelong is an outdoor event so please wear appropriate clothing for all weather and terrain.  

No, there will not be an ATM available on the night, however, there will be EFTPOS devices at the food trucks and merchandise stands!

 In line with our Neighbourhood Amenity Local Law 2024, community members may consume alcohol in public spaces during daylight hours, under the condition that it doesn’t interfere with others’ quiet enjoyment of the space.

 Absolutely,  the  Neighbourhood Amenity Local Law 2024 cover thsi also and the evernt is smoke and vape free as this is a child friendly event.

We get asked this a lot so we have to  introduce a system that will support local talent. We ask that you provide a 300 word ( max) bio of yourself and a audience clip. Selection is  for Geelong and District artists. selection  is completed by September annaully. So get in for next year.

 In the early days of the carols concert bands were a staple of the program and as  things have progressed we have found it really challenging in the host venue to accommodate super large stage to accommodate all the artists in a concert band, we are not able to  produce great sound and have all musicans microphoned up and we have limited resources to afford this a  sustainable option.

Johnstone Park has wheelcahir access via the pedestrian access paths. Some areas are  quite steep so if you need assistance reach out to our volunteers for help.

The carols are a mix of  traditional carols (Hark the Herals Angels, We Wish you a Merry Chrismas, get the drift) and modern  carols-  All I Want for Christmas Is You . There is something for every-one.

For well over 65 years the YMCA or as we like to be know - the Y has had a small but might team of volunteers stage the event in Johnstone Park Geelong.  The event is about bring the community together to celebrate our brilliant city and  creat a place to belong through the Spirit of Christmas. We couldn't put on a FREE event with our partners and generous donations. It costs a small fortunate to stage the event and each year we rattle the bucket and seek donations just  to met the costs of the staging, lighting, marketing, cordination, insurance, portable toliets and first aid.
